Forgoe any monetary or regulatory limitation, and show me your dream daily. Here’s mine:

It does everything I want a car to do, plus like 50% more.

Driving such a fancy car here ins’t very recomendable, so perhaps this is my second choice;

Very few people here know how expensive Tesla's are, so to many it just looks like a deformed Mazda.

I've STILL yet to setup my suspension properly to make good use of the Xidas. In retrospect, adding beefy sway bars prior to winter tires was a poor choice...

I ad the RX450h all last week and it was great. Used less than half a tank over 7 straight days even though it said I was getting just above 25.

It’s the best choice you could do tbh... the CTS-V might be the only american car which isn’t absolutely unberable in Europe.

I would consider a Continental 3.0 Ecoboost in your case... 400hp, RS diff, CD4 plataform which is more common in Europe.

The Prius C is bigger trash, the battery pack is useless... it’s only like half a kilowatt. But I love it because even if you’re behaving like an idiot on it, you get 30mpg.

It's the Miata syndrome, you feel like you're going fast in a Miata, but you never get a ticket, it's the same here... but dynamically much worse.

If I remember right I got better MPG in the Avalon than the Prius because the Prius had sooo little power.

Fair enough. The older I get, the less I need a back seat. Maybe when I was in my early 20s that was the case, but at 33, I transport people in my back seat maybe 2 or 3 times per year. That’s not enough to factor into any decision about my ideal daily driver.

It’s just that you need a car to suit the envirment best. Like the Silverado.

The i4 got worse highway fuel economy than the v8... but I bet the number changes drastically when you’re talking about city miles. It’s the same with the Prius.

95% of people in California live in "Urban areas" So, a Prius makes sense there.... in many other states, the battery pack acts more like a weight than a benefit.

Can’t fault you there, the S65 would be amazing. The Conti seems just a little extra special to me.

Honestly, if we’re talking no budget but reasonable, I’d love to be one of those guys who daily’s a 911 year round.

The 911 is a really good car.

I think that the Conti is too gaudy, even compared to the chrome grille mercedes. Plus, a proper v12 should be respected.

Terrible guess. Way off.

I don’t mind riding in the rain. It’s better than being stuck in a car most of the time. The right gear makes all the difference. Super heavy rain is one thing, but moderate or less is totally fine.

Honestly I haven’t ridden in snow. But I would try with the right tires. But if I were actually going to do that I’d start on something I wouldn’t mind dropping, like an old DRZ or something. Cheap, light, easy to control, fun to hoon.

A Foxbody Mustang (preferably ‘82 T-top hatchback ) done up with a 5 speed, a slightly warmed over roller block 351, a shaker scoop and a Mach 1 style paint job in Azure Blue .

I have yet to find a car as fun to drive everyday as those Foxbodys, and that hatch is pretty darn useful too.

It’s not money stopping me from achieving this dream daily driver, it’s the need for a reliable family car and the lack of room for a second project car.  (No way I’d be able to pay for a fully completed phantom Mach 1).

Demos aren't free, but they're about as much as renting and are intended for people in the market for a new bike. Usually rentals and demos are in the $80-100/day range. That'll usually get you a $3-5k bike.

I’m 36 and I’ve owned a 2-seater as my only (street legal) car for going on 13 years now. Granted, i don’t have any children, but the lack of back seats has probably come up fewer than 10 times in that span. It’s really not that big of a deal IMHO.

Price no object?

I’ve been dailying a 2 seater anyway for the past 13 years and the NSX is the original dailyable supercar.

I’d be tempted to daily a Mclaren F1, but honestly that would be a PITA just due to the attention you’d garner everywhere you go. The only people who lose their shit when they see an NSX are car nerds who i don’t mind conversing with. I don’t want to answer the questions “How fast is it?” and “how much did it cost?” a thousand times a day.

E28 M5. My 530i was pretty perfect to what I need in a daily. Comfy, manual, great exhaust note, and a chassis that really rewards hard driving. E28 is all that but lighter and better styling

I also have a Miata, and there are definitely times that I appreciate the additional seating and cargo space of my Fiat 500. My girlfriend and I have a small dog so it would be a bit cramped in the Miata at times.
